Aaachoo! Fun with Grandma

Grandma Margie has been visiting and there are some very good things that happen when Grandma is around.....

You get to wear as many pretties as you want and keep your nuk all day (well, until Mom and Dad get home anyway)

You get to take Cadee for "walks" and be in control

You get to be pushed around a great big nursery, looking at all the pretty flowers, and making the choices on where to go

You get to hang out with Mom's friends and they cook for you!

And after Grandma has an allergy attack yout get to make all the grown-ups laugh when you fake sneeze. The visit isn't even over yet....

First Hair Cut

Cassidy has gone from baby mullet to baby mop and I thought I should get a little help. Cassidy got to go to a real stylist for her first hair cut...although it was more of just a trim, evening the layers up a little and trimming the back. She was pretty darn cute sitting very still and very proud. Since the hair cut, her curls have seemed to get curlier. Poor thing is definitely my daughter!

Our Little Fish

Cassidy and I have started a Mommie and Me swimming class this month. She was so excited to put on her swimming suit (that she picked out of course) and is doing great. I was a little worried that because she hadn't been in a pool she would be a little scared....I should have known better! Her favorite thing is to walk along a table that is under the water. Her little legs come up like she's marching. She's also totally into putting her face in and blowing bubbles and by week 3 was ready to go under the water, coming up spitting and giggling. On our way to the pool she keeps asking about swimming and when I say we're almost there she says "I can't see it. The pool is hiding.....silly pool!"

I did it Daddy!

So Monday morning, Chad wakes up as usual with Cassidy chatting over the monitor in her crib. He brushes his teeth and gets dressed while listening to her singing and talking to Lulu. He comes down stairs and Cassidy meets him in the hallway with a huge grin saying "I did it Daddy, I did it!", very proud of herself. Chad and I are mixed with pride and fear as the railings on her crib come up to at least her armpits! When I got home I put her in her crib and asked her to show me how she got out. She is able to put her leg over the side rail while holding on to the back rail, shimmies over and then drops down. WOW! We waited until the weekend to convert her crib to her "big girl bed" but she had a crash pad under her crib and a baby gate across her door. She still has a crash pad but has only fallen out once. She is doing pretty good at staying in her bed, but we still have the baby gate across her door...especailly since she is now tall enough to work the deadbolts to get outside. Go Cass GO!

Happy Happy Mamma's Day!

I had a wonderful Mother's day weekend with my family. Saturday we spent the day around the house and got in a little ride to boot. Cassidy rode with me for about an hour, without complaint and wanting more. This summer is going to be so much fun with my little riding partner!

Sunday was beautiful and after church Cass and I found some time to get picutes. She looked so grown up....How did that happen?

Using my powers of "Mom Spit" before the official picture. Chad thought it was too funny to pass up!

Last couple of weeks

As usual, we've been pretty busy around here the last couple of weeks. Chad got the garden all ready for me to plant with the help of the cutest lil' cheerleaders, Cassidy and Morgan

We had our friends Kimberley, Ayran and Maddie over for an afternoon and after dinner we took the girls back over to the barn for a ride on Rocky. Maddie got to go first since Cassidy refused to wear her helmet...but as soon as she saw Maddie on "her" pony she was more than ready to put it on if it meant she got to ride.

As soon as she got on, she couldn't stop smiling!

Then we decided to ride double, and that was so much fun the girls didn't want to get off. We ended up leading Rocky back to our house where we had to convince Cassidy she would get to ride again but now it was time to go home.

A little R&R for the hard workers.....Cassidy set that all up by herself so she could "read" with Papa. Check out both crossed legs....

We did have a little mishap along the way...Cassidy got another black eye, but this one was by far the worst. She fell while helping Chad and Jerry on the porch. She's pretty tough and Grandma Margie called her Bruiser.

While Cassidy and I were over in Wenatchee helping Bryce move into his new place, Chad and Jerry kept working away on the porch and got the railing done and then started breaking ground for our walkways.

This weekend Chad and I got all the flagstone down for our 3 walkways. We're going to let the rain do some work for us to get the gravel and sand settled before putting down the bark. It already looks amazing and I can't believe how close we are to getting done!
I couldn't have a better work crew and I know there is so much good stuff to come!
