smiles and snow

The smiles keep coming, and we love it!
Rylee (pink and white) Sawyer (yellow and white)

Sawyer in purple

Sawyer lookin' cute and practicing her new skills...
Of course, Cassidy is in on the action and LOVES getting those smiles, what she doesn't see is Mama's big smile too. I'm so proud of her....
The snow continued to fall and brought us a special surprise...Uncle Bryce and Auntie Jessica needed a place to crash while the airports dealt with the weather and we were very happy to help. We got to spend almost an entire day hanging out and having fun

Our snow day over at Cari's house was great, complete with a chili dinner and bread bowls
Cassidy got a chance to practice with her new snowshoes and she was a natural at taking "dinosaur" steps

It's great that the snow brings out the kid in all of us, of course with this crew it's not really that hard of a pull!
Cari and Cass taking a turn

Uncle Bryce and Cass as always had a great time, even though this ending was a little rough...

Cassidy rallied and trusted auntie Jess to get her down the hill

Coach Cassidy working with the biggest kids of all!

The snow is going to leave tomorrow...we'll be sad, but hopefully we'll get another taste of winter before spring!

For Grandma

I will apologize up front, this is a ridiculously long video and feel free to stop it before the end, but there is a Grandma in Arizona who is missing her girls, so these are for her....(trust me, they could have been a lot longer)

My movers and shakers...I can't seem to get both of them rolling over together, but we'll keep trying. Rylee seems pretty content to hang out since her first roll, but Sawyer is definitely going to be on the move. She is in the grey/pink outfit and the red....

The next videos are of Rylee, our social butterfly...

Snow Day

We got our first snow yesterday. It wasn't much, but enough for a 3 year old and her mama to have some fun! Cassidy was so excited and the first thing she wanted to do was make a frosty the snowman....he had to be kinda little, but it worked! She was very picky about the rocks and carrot. It was too bad it "melted" (Mossy ate him) when we went inside.

making snow angles

Sliding through the snow was pretty fun and a great warm-up for sledding after lunch

We went to Sam and Cari's house, who actually have a hill, to put Cass's Christmas sled to use. It turned out to be a pretty fast run and she did great...no fear (I wonder where she gets that from?)

Here is the progression...
The first run, a little quiet, not quite sure....

The second run; free-style and full of giggles

Then she and I went double so the track got a little faster.

The 4th run; speed racer....

Apparently my daughter has the same issues with sledding I did, the end! I'll just make sure there are no fences at the bottom of the hills. Don't worry though, she wasn't hurt (a little shaken) but rallied for 2 more runs before heading home. That's my girl! It was very sweet when I was tucking her in tonight, she gave me a big hug and said "I had a great day! I love you Mama" I love you too Cassidy! Definitely the Good Stuff

4 months

4 months! WOW. The girls are doing really well. Their tummies are so much better and the grins and smiles just keep coming! Both are rolling over now and have moved into their own cribs. I was a little worried that their sleeping would be disrupted, but they have adjusted well. Most days they are taking consistent naps and Rylee is sleeping from 10pm to 7am consistently. Sawyer still likes that 4am feeding, but is close to dropping that as well. I think the funnest thing that has happened is that they are now really interested in each other, especially Rylee. Sawyer is very busy, seems like constantly moving. They are also now able to sit up in their Bumbo seats and love to look around and are working to manipulate toys.

Chad learning how easy it is to work on a project with 2 very good helpers!

The crib did get put together and the room looks good. I was a little worried it would be too crowded but there is still enough floor space for playing (Cass and Rylee)

Story time, all clean and ready for bed (Sawyer on left)
Our social girls....

We had our well child check-up today (1/10) and here are the new stats:

Rylee is now 12 lbs 6oz (35%) and 24 1/2 inches long (50%)

Sawyer is 11 lbs 15oz (25%) and 24 1/4 inches long (35%)

At their two month check up they were in the 3rd and 10th percentile for weight and height so they are definitely gaining and doing really well. Rylee's heart murmur is still there, but slight and benign and the doctor thinks it has a good chance of healing itself, as well as Sawyer's belly button. The doctor's orders were simply Keep it up and he'll see us again at 6 months!
