Big Day

We've had a pretty big Saturday around here. Uncle Bryce and Auntie Jess came over for a visit and were happy to be my support crew for a local 10k, taking on babysitting duty even with sick snotty girls who really like to share!
It was a perfect early spring day in the NW, complete with a little snow, a little rain and of course some wind (ok, gusts!) for my first ever race and 10k. I was able to make my goal of under 11 min. miles and not walking while Cari smoked the course in sub 10 min. miles! It was tough, but we both agreed pretty cool!
Thanks to Bryce and Jess, Cassidy and the girls were able to be at the finish line to cheer us on. I will never forget Bryce's greeting; Don't look to close at your kids! I love it and am so thankful that Cassidy could be a part

A nice cool down while giving a bottle...yay, my whole life is a race!

That afternoon Cassidy was getting ready for her first Daddy Daughter dance and was so excited to get all dressed up for her "ball" and being a princess! We of course had to get her nails done, pink with a sparkle top coat...that's my girl!

Too excited to stand still for pictures!

At the dance with her friend Kierstan

Complete with a professional picture. We put it in a frame and Cassidy told Chad a few days later that when she looks at it it makes her smile.....awwwww

My Girls

Have I mentioned that I have 3 of the most amazing and beautiful girls ever? Even when they are snotty and congested they are sweet and engaging. Now you may be thinking that I'm biased, but I have proof!
This was Cassidy's creation when I asked her to set up the blanket in the twins' room for some tummy time...She is very thoughtful and had every blanket and toy out...however, she also rolled some blankets to cover the corners so her sisters wouldn't roll into or under them. Soooo sweet!
Just try to argue that they aren't amazing!

Sick Babies

"I don't feel very well", says Sawyer, who definitely has a case of the crud....snot, snot, a little coughing and more snot. Cassidy came down with it Tuesday and is almost better. It hit Sawyer Friday and I'm sure Rylee is next...my poor babies...

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl

Cassidy is 4....how can that be possible! She is a wonderful little girl who surprises me every day with what she is capable of doing, her intelligence and creativity and her thoughtfulness. She has had a great birthday with 2 parties, the first one was up north that she got to share with Lindsay and Alexa. Cassidy thought it was pretty special to have the same party as her big cousins...and she loved the dollhouse she got along with the Elefun butterfly game and a new soccer ball!

Grandma Margie came up for a visit and helped get ready for her friend party...a pj and butterfly party. 10 4 year olds from pre-school and friends from A-town. My only thought was "It's only an hour and a half, we can do this!" It did turn out really well and everyone had fun and it was nice for me to be able to put some faces to names.

MacKenzie stopped by to give Cassidy her gift before the party...her first pet that's all hers! She named it Fish....

The party....
playing Duck Duck Goose...4 year old style (in other words, chase!) and playing the butterfly game
I thought it would be a good idea to have some structure and a quiet activity...I found some great butterfly masks for the kids to decorate and it was a big hit

and so was the cake!

It was a great party and lots of fun and...I survived (with a new appreciation for Cassidy's pre-school teacher) But well worth the effort to see Cassidy's face light up each time a new friend arrived and to watch her play hostess and play. She is definitely a very special little girl...we are very lucky to be her parents! We love you Cassidy Rae

5 months

Sawyer Rylee

Our girls are 5 months old...WOW! They have become quiet the active individuals these days, and are full of smiles and giggles! They have both mastered rolling over tummy to back to tummy and I now have to keep a constant eye on them to make sure they are still on the blankets (hard floors) and to make sure they are playing nice! We are working on sitting up and it won't be long! They have both adjusted to their own cribs and continue to sleep pretty well at night. Sawyer was the first to get out of her full swaddle as she could roll over with it on and I was afraid she wouldn't be able to get off her tummy. She still likes the pressure on her tummy though, so now we just swaddle from the armpits down. She also has become quite atached to a pony blanket...remind you of any one else?? Rylee is also half swaddled these days and both are never in the same place as I laid them down!

Here is a typical tummy time session...and why I have to keep an eye on them! (Rylee has the pink pants)
How they start out..."Who us? We're not doing anything, just bein' cute..."
But then...

They always come back together though and do really like being close. It's been fun this month watching them start watching each other and Cassidy. They definitely do not want to miss a thing!

Vaulting

I am blessed with amazing friends, who for their birthdays want to do amazing and adventurous things. This year...Vaulting! Last weekend we saw Cavalia which definitely got us inspired for the vaulting lesson today. While we weren't quite at the same level, we had a blast and managed to at least not fall off!
We started off in the gym, practicing on barrels but moved quickly into the arena with a beautiful Belgin mare named Faith.

Running down the line to mount...yes, we had to do it at a trot
Some of the moves...

The video is a little long, but you can kind of see what we were working on. It was really run and definitely challenging, perfect for us! I love my friends!

A BIG thank you to Grandma Kit for babysitting and most of all being flexible and willing to help out when ever she can. Thank you too Lori, Lindsay and Brady
