February Fun

So what else happened in February besides my baby turning 6? Well, Cassidy worked hard on her first Valentine's Day cards for her classmates.  She wrote every one's name and carefully picked out the card they would like.  She is a very thoughtful little girl
She also had her 100th day of school and took advantage of all the Valentine decorations to make her cape for the school party.
And of course she had her special date with her favorite guy for the Daddy Daughter Dance.  If only that could be true for the next 15 years
And then we got some snow!!! Not much, but it's amazing what 100 feet of elevation can do for the accumulation so we headed to Sam and Cari's house for a little sledding adventure!  Cari made sure every one got a good start for the run and Cassidy loved it...so did the twins!
Rylee with her duct tape gaiters...It's what you do for snow pants that are one size too small and don't cover the top of the boots.  I have to say though, she had warm dry feet at the end of the day, yep, we just make it work around here!
 Miss "Faster Faster" Sawyer!
Not sure who had more fun, the  kids or the adults!
What's better than snow?  Costco coming out with new swimsuits!  They are ready for the beach!!
Of course that meant having to go through the old swim stuff...but not before one last romp through the house and yes, they are naked.  Hey, don't judge, we are working on potty training around here!
Spending time with friends now that they were feeling better was also important
And the girls are definitely asserting their independence, including dressing themselves for the barn.  Not too bad for Sawyer

How Old?

This month marks an important event that I am having a hard time adjusting to....My baby turned 6.  That seems so much older than 5 doesn't it??  How did that happen so fast is my question, but we answered in a big way...with 3 parties of course!
First came the friends birthday party at her gymnastics gym shared with her "bestie" Madeline who happens to have a close birthday and all the same friends!
The view from the foam pit...just a few balloons...
 and a few kids!
Next came the cousin birthday party with Lindsay and Alexa...It's very hard to believe how old they are ALL getting.  Lindsay was just a baby when Chad and I got married and Lex was just a twinkle in her Mom's eye.
The twins of course were very helpful...always
 Papa Jerry and Grandma Kit
My baby looking very grown up in her new birthday dress...Thanks Auntie Lori!
The next weekend Uncle Bryce, Auntie Jess and Grandma Margie came to help celebrate.  We met at the Children's Museum for starters and after a morning of non-stop action and adventure on a beautiful day
 came the party of course!
No matter how hard I try...look at those twinkling eyes looking at her new "pretties" box thanks to Auntie Jess and Uncle Bryce
But at least we keep it balanced.  Her other favorite gift was the starter box for her chicken coop.  She was soooo excited!  Now all we have to do is build the coop (hint hint Papa Jerry) and wait for spring and the chicks!
She picked out the ice-cream cake (over home made...trying not to take it personally)
priceless joy!
and a wonderful end to a very busy day
Her other favorite was an extra large horse puzzle of course that despite his best effort she was able to recruit Uncle Bryce for :)
Last was cupcakes at school to celebrate my very special big girl who will always be my baby
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CASSIDY RAE....YOU ARE LOVED BY SO MANY AND SUCH A GIFT TO US!
