Father's Day

Yesterday was a great day with all the family in Bellingham. Chad and Cassidy got to stay with Grandma while I did some paperwork at CCS...she had lots of company and lots of lovin' cousins to entertain her and make sure she ate well with Auntie Lori.

Then it was off to dinner to celebrate Grandpa Jerry and Father's Day. We had lots of time to play with Cassidy while waiting for our food

and Cassidy decided it was time to start preparing for WSU

We had a great time and Cassidy's Aunties did a wonderful job keeping her cuddled and entertained, even after she thought it was time to be going. Thanks for letting me finish eating!!

1st Father's Day

It was a beautiful day for Chad's first Father's Day and he got to spend it just being a Dad.

I love how closely Cass is watching Chad....She loves her Daddy!

To Grandpa

Happy Father's Day Grandpa! I can't wait to see you again soon.

I love you!

Getting Bigger Every Day

Our girl just keeps getting bigger! Today she graduated to a backpack instead of the front carrier to help me feed horses. Her 16lbs definitely feel better in the new pack and she seemed to enjoy being up higher and looking around. She is able to move a little more as well, including using my ponytail as her new favorite toy! I'm so glad she hit the grabbing milestone.... I think the dogs may start getting in thier hikes again, maybe a little shorter, but romping in the woods never the less.

She also is getting much better at eating, more than half is getting swallowed now. Cassidy and who ever is feeding are still a mess but I think that will be par for the course for a while. We've decided she doesn't need clothes to eat and I still say a good mess is a good thing. She hasn't quite gotten the whole process figured out (notice what she does after I say she is a pro), but definitly getting the jest and showing interest. Now if we could just eliminate all distractions like her toes, the bib, the crazy lady with the video camera, it might go even better! Chad does a great job keeping her attention and letting her help. It's very fun to see such a good daddy.

First Bite

Cass has graduated to some real food in her diet. She had her first bites of rice cereal tonight, at least we think she may have gotten some in her mouth and swallowed. She was interested in it, even trying to grab the spoon, it's just that darn tongue doesn't quite work right. She had fun though and we'll try again tomorrow...I'm sure as motivated as she is to eat, she'll have it down shortly! It's amazing how much fun you can have with the simplest things. I may have jumped the gun though...I bought some sweet potatoes and squash today in hopes
of making her some real food, but that may be a little while yet...I'll probably make Chad eat them instead!

Healthy, Happy, Perfect

Cassidy had her 16 week check-up yesterday. The doc said she is doing great and that everything looks wonderful. She weighed in at 15lbs 14oz (90th percentile), is 24 3/4 inches long (75 th percentile), and she has Dad's little head, in the 25th percentile...too bad we wasted that on a c-section! She also had to get 4 booster shots. She didn't cry until the 4th one and then only for short time. The injection sites seem pretty sore today though and she has little bruises...very sad. She is still smiling and happy, but maybe just a little more cudly...oh darn!

Cassidy had more visitors on Sunday. Great Grandpa K, Great Aunt Mary, and Grandma Kit came down. After playing at the house we all went out to lunch. That night, we played cards with Sam and Cari...Cassidy is taking after her Dad as a card shark, although right now that means she just wants to put them in her mouth! She was also modeling Sam's artwork on her onsie...and it is very fitting!

Check out that belly and rolls...90th percentile, oh yah! Our little "porkchop buddah" is so stinkin' cute!
