Snow Day!!

Saturday night brought us about 3 1/2 inches of beautiful snow followed by sunshine! It's beautiful and supposed to stick around for a while. Cassidy enjoyed her first snow adventure, laughing at the dogs catching snowballs and figuring out not just one, but two ways to eat snow. She is a very bright little girl and determined, not to be deterred by mere mittens after her hands got cold!

Monday we got to go for a beautiful little hike in the sunshine. I think it took 10 minutes just to get bundled, but sooo totally worth it! I'm so glad she loves being outside. I'll never admit how many layers the poor girl had to endure putting on, but a picture of the tire man came to mind

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving found Cassidy and I back in Dayton, celebrating with family friends and making new ones. There were two other little ones, Lila and Denver. They all got along really well. Denver is 7 mo old and he and Cass thought it was very cool to have someone their own size around. Both did wonderful during the feast and had fun playing together. Neither wanted to take their naps, they didn't want to miss a thing! It was a great day with great people and many blessings for which to be thankful.

Friday and Saturday was spent giving waagon rides during Dayton's Christmas Kickoff. This was Dad's 4th year and yet again he and the girls were a big hit. He had full wagons every run while I ran the ground crew loading and unloading. Cassidy got to spend some great time with Grandma while Dad and I were in town and would make her guest appearances in the afternoon.

Santa even joined us for a wagon ride. Cassidy wasn't too impressed, but as long as we didn't make her sit on his lap she was ok. Maybe next year.....

Cassidy also entertained with some of her 4x4 crawling moves.

Daddy's Girl

Cassidy was able to watch her first Apple Cup today, well part of it, with her Daddy. Even though the Cougs' season is nothing to brag about this year, Cass brought them some good luck today and they beat the Dawgs in what turned out to be a pretty good game!
GO COUGS!!

SHE'S 9mo OLD!!

On the 11th, our little girl was 9 months old! She weighed in at 18lbs 14oz (50%), 27 3/4in tall (55%) and head circumfrence of 42 1/2cm (30%). I can't believe she can be that big already, and all the things she can do now. Like crawling all over the house, pulling herself up on just about anything and needing very little support and even lasting a few seconds without holding on. She is engaging and funny and has a great routine with a fake cough and loves to wave hello and goodbye. We're working on high 5s. Here are a few more pictures of the last few weeks.

Cassidy is also working on her 4x4 skills and is a big ham to the baby in the mirror (the videos will be coming soon)

Fall Fun

Some more fall photos...This time with the appropriate fall gear and having a great time in the leaves. By the time the "photo shoot" was over, she was down to just her diaper, bear walking around in the leaves, and I had decided that only the little leaves needed to be dug out of her mouth, the rest were fair game!

Cassidy's first Halloween was not exactly as we had planned, but we had a good time just the same, and never has there been a cuter little bear. We did learn an important lesson....Babies do not like to get their faces painted! We showed off her costume at Sam and Cari's house and played for quite a while. Cassidy was showing how well she was crawling and climbing. Then, just as Mom was saying how much more she is looking around now when she is crawling Cassidy ran head on into a wall. Timing is everything...

But it's true, in just a few weeks Cassidy has become much more mobile and aware of where she is going and why. When she first started crawling she would just go with her head down and then stop and look up to see where she had gotten too. Now she has a purpose in mind when she takes off, usually to go see the dogs, to follow us around the house,or to get to a toy. She is also much more into climbing and tumbling. She has started to climb up on our stomaches while we are laying on the floor and then smiling while she bales off the other side, the higher the better. On landing she rolls to her side laughing and then climbs back up. I'm not sure where she gets this adventurous side from.....

Grandma Margie has been here since the 30th and they have been spending lots of time together having fun. She is headed back home tomorrow, but we'll get to see her again soon for Thanksgiving.
A now classic move from Cassidy.....

Catching Up

I've been terrible this last month about keeping up our website...maybe becuase it's become tougher keeping up with Cassidy! She has been very busy this month, going from pulling herself around to officially crawling. It's amazing how fast she became fast! Here are some more highlights...

Cassidy enjoyed helping me pick blackberries

The Pruiett family came together for the new picture and got some wonderful shots on a beautiful day in Bellingham

The grandkidsCassidy continues to love her bath and getting comfy...
Now that she is mobile, she loves playing with the dogs. Chad caught her trying to share the ball with Remi who was being the wonderful dog she is and not taking the toy she knew to be Cass's, despite Cassidy pushing it towards her.

Cassidy loves to be standing and works hard at pulling herself up on anything that she can get her hands on. She can even stand up just using the wall for balance! Here she is waiting "patiently" for me to get done with dishes to get her out of her playpen and turn her looseReady to go feed horses in her carharts every morning!
Cassidy's first hunting trip to Dayton and hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa on the farm

Cassidy enjoying a stroll around the kitchen with Grandpa. She is ready to move on to walking, just ask her! Looking smashing in her camo waiting with Grandma on opening morning hunting report
So we know this picture isn't politically correct and she will probably hate us for it in about 12 years, but you can't choose your family so she's stuck with us. The hunting report was good, 2 bucks opening morning with 2 more to follow. All tags filled and meat for the freezer.
Later she did a little hunting of her own. The poor bear didn't have a chance!
Riding horses... and finally figuring out what those long ears are for! Our little pumpkin in fall, 8 months and 1 day old
