4th of July

The 4th of July is a very significant holiday for us around here.  Not only is it the celebration of our freedom and our country (and what redhead doesn't like her freedom) it also is the opening for crabbing and usually the start of summer weather.  This year we couldn't wait!  Chad and Cassidy, with friends Maddie and Aryan, went crabbing as soon as they could get the boat in the water.  Crabbing wasn't great, but the sun was shining, the girls were smilin' and they got a special treat when they caught a star fish.  Cassidy was also feeling pretty special as she got to officially ride in the jeep for the first time to launch the boat...hot stuff!
Next came the parade and per tradition Auntie Cari joined in the festivities.  It was another beautiful day and a great small town celebration
Sawyer truly enjoyed all the bands, lights and sirens and I'm sure got her sister extra candy with her cute factor!
Rylee also really enjoyed the parade, after she woke from her nap thanks to the big cannon blast that started things off!
Cassidy with her haul of candy.  She actually was walking sideways, but did NOT want any help.  We should be good till Halloween!
Then we headed down to Woodland on Saturday to spend time with Uncle Bob and Aunt Bette, Howard, Sue, and Don.  Sheryl met us at Uncle Bob's with her 2 horses and while
we got some saddle time the girls were well taken care of and entertained with cousins Scott and McKenzie.
Cassidy, Aunt Bette and Sawyer enjoying some swing time and sunshine
Of course, with any Krueger gathering there will be some farm work involved!  Cassidy and Papa Doug helping to unload the hay wagon, Cass sure loves her Papa
The next day was the reunion.  It was another great turnout and the girls were a hit!  After eating, swinging and games (Cass and I did the egg toss, Chad got to do the water balloon toss) it was time to hit the pool.  Cassidy has no fear and had a blast!  Both her and Chad were wore out by the time we had to head home.
Once we contained the twins to their car seats, they were able to get a little snooze in
Cassidy also figured out if she went down the slide with her noodle, she didn't need Chad at all!  Not sure who she takes after!
Cassidy was also a huge help in the car.  We decided to try to make the 4 hour trip straight through and thanks to Cassidy's help, we were able.  She did a great job helping with bottles and keeping her sisters thoroughly entertained between Cheerios and giggling.  We had a great trip and look forward to doing it again next year
Before all this craziness, Cassidy had gone through her first Vacation Bible School and loved it!  Our church has it in the evening and includes a meal for the whole family along with a worship time before the kiddos head to their classrooms.  It's was really nice.  Chad was home 3 out of the 5 nights and I was able to work with her class.  I know I've said this before, but God bless pre-school teachers!  It was fun watching her in that setting and I have to say, she is an amazing little girl.  I was most impressed with her willingness to "share" her mama as other kids needed more support which might meant them sitting on my lap or getting 1:1 help.  Cassidy just rolled with it and grew in her understanding of and trust in God.  She is such a blessing!

Father's Day Weekend

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!  These girls know they have the best daddy!
We met Mom and Dad halfway at Bryce's for Father's Day weekend.  We had a great time and had the bonus of having Jessica there with us
the usual scene
Cassidy was super excited about seeing Auntie Jess and packed special nail polish just for the two of them
Uncle Bryce needed some supervision in the kitchen
Bryce fried up some great razor clams for our dinner, along with zuccinni and mushrooms
Rylee was very excited about the peaches Papa Doug was feeding them!
Sawyer leaned a new trick...I'm getting a little worried about our future!
We came home Saturday night and Sunday morning Chad, Cassidy and Same hit the river for some Father's Day fishing
Papa Doug and G'ma Margie followed us home for a few extra days with the Grandkiddos
G'ma Margie learning how to multi-task our way!
Doesn't get much better...family, fishing, horses, and lots and lots of LOVE

It's a Twin Thing

Rylee is in the red shirt, Sawyer is in purple.  Rylee thinks Sawyer's disadvantage being in socks is pretty funny, but both are talkin' away at each other...

Havin' some fun

Even though the weather isn't really cooperating, we are still getting the feeling around here that summer is coming, making every one a little happier, even if we have to stay inside.  Cassidy's new favorite daily comment is "Mama, we are eating dinner and it's not even dark yet!" Amen!
Cassidy learning about having mobile and adoring sisters
Cassidy and her friend Morgan playing superheroes.  Cassidy was Animal Girl
while Morgan was Apple Girl...Mossy got quite a bit of attention that day!
On one of the nice days we decided to do a trial run on our new tent that we got last year.  I got some serious heckling for it being so big when I brought it home, but who's laughing now!  My question is...How did Costco know we were going to have twins?  Cassidy can not wait for our camping trips in July...Chad and I are just hoping Summer decides to show up by then
Then there was the tea party next door in honor of a granddaughter visit from Montana.  Cassidy of course was thrilled to get the invitation and the afternoon was complete with a very nice lunch, nail painting and craft projects.  The perfect afternoon for some pretty cute little girls
To balance out the tea party, Chad has been taking Cass fishing.  The first time out, despite Cassidy proclaiming as they left "this is going to be the best day ever" was a little bit of a let down.  I blame it on the rain and no fish.  But she was ready to go again the next week and thanks to some sunshine and 2 fish, had a great time!  I think it's pretty safe to say Chad has himself a fishing partner

Mossy's favorite spot in the boat...We are waiting for her to fall in

The sign of a good day...
A fun bathtime experience, at least for Cassidy!
Cassidy showing her multi-tasking ability while helping Rylee and watching a show...that's my girl!
If we've had this much fun already, I can't wait for summer!

9 months

This last month we've had our first bout with stomach flu and chest colds, trying new foods, possibly teething, pulling up, cruising on the furniture, playing peek-a-boo, clapping and definitely being BUSY!
Sawyer in white, Rylee in brown
They love dumping things out, the louder the better!
Sawyer is in the pink/animals, Rylee is in the white/flowers
Sawyer had to resort to drastic measures one naptime
Rylee playing peek-a-boo
Sawyer not wanting to clap for the camera but is showing off her moves
At their 9 month doctor's appointment everything went well.  The doctor did say "well, they aren't the biggest kiddos, but they are staying on their curve" meaning they are growing at a steady rate, just like they should!
Rylee is now up to 18lbs 7oz (50th percentile) and 27inches long (25th percentile).  Doc couldn't hear her murmur, which is a great sign, but he wasn't willing to say it had healed completely.  Sawyer is 17lbs 12oz (30th percentile) and 26 1/2 inches (15th percentile).  That means when we're packing both of them around we are up to 35lbs!  Sawyer's hernia continues to improve and it's looking like she won't have to have surgery when she reaches 1 year.  The best part is that she will probably always have a little bit of an "outie" belly button...thank goodness for little blessings.  We've already had to resort to that belly button and I'm sure we will again!
Overall, things are great and we are truly blessed.  I can't believe they are 9 months old and how fast that first birthday milestone is approaching...wow!
